I am a member of the New Zealand Association of Manuscript Assessors (NZAMA).
An assessment is a report that points out problems and strengths in a piece of work and makes some suggestions on how you may tackle these. I write one to two pages outlining the main points along with annotations on the manuscript itself.
I also offer as part of the fee a one hour phone consultation.
Cost:
Cost is worked out according to the word length of the manuscript. When making a query, please state the word count along with a description of the project, eg young adult historical/contemporary/fantasy.
The fee for a picture book is $200.
